In September 2024, OpenAI's ChatGPT achieved a milestone by surpassing Microsoft Bing in terms of traffic for the first time. This AI chatbot has seen significant growth in usage across web and mobile applications. According to Similarweb, ChatGPT's official website recorded over 3.1 billion global visits last month, a 112% increase compared to last year and an 18.7% rise from August.

Microsoft announced that Bing Chat will introduce the OpenAI image generation tool DALL-E3. DALL-E3 improves on DALL-E2's capabilities by accurately generating text, labels, and symbols within images. DALL-E3 will be available to paid users in October, while free users can use the DALL-E3 image generator in Bing Chat. DALL-E3 performs better in handling text within images.

The Microsoft Bing Chat update offers improved map navigation response. Users can access real-time traffic information. Bing Chat Enterprise will be added to members of the Windows Insiders program in the Dev and Beta channels.

The Bing chat system upgrade is 99% complete and will be launched soon. The upgrade aims to enhance speed and reliability while introducing new features. New functionalities include third-party plugins and a no-search mode.
